Privacy & Cookie Notice

Effective date: 18 October 2026. This notice describes how European Bus Glass Journal processes information when readers visit our website, contact the newsroom or use any optional subscription service.

1. Who is responsible for personal data?

The controller is European Bus Glass Journal, based in Poland. Privacy enquiries: office@bus-glass.eu.

2. Visiting the website

Our hosting systems may record the visitor’s IP address, request date and time, accessed page, browser-related technical information, response status and security events in server logs. We use this information to deliver the site, keep it secure, detect misuse and maintain reliable operations. The usual legal basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention depends on the hosting and security settings and is limited to what is reasonably necessary for those purposes.

3. Cookies and optional technologies

The site uses WordPress and Divi and may set cookies essential to administration, security and the basic operation of installed components. Legacy WooCommerce functionality may use cart or session cookies if a visitor opens the existing product and checkout pages, even though the Journal is not presented as a shop. A cookie-consent interface is provided to manage non-essential technologies where required.

We do not rely on this notice as consent for analytics or advertising. Non-essential analytics, marketing pixels and external embeds should only be activated following an assessment of applicable consent requirements. Individual cookies, providers, expiry dates and purposes should be checked in the cookie banner and its preference settings as configured on the live site.

4. Editorial correspondence

If you email the newsroom or submit an announcement, we process the information included in your message, such as your name, professional contact details and the contents of your communication. We use it to respond, verify press material, investigate corrections or pursue a potential editorial contribution. Depending on the situation, processing is based on our legitimate interest in managing professional correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or steps requested before a potential agreement (Article 6(1)(b)). Please do not send sensitive personal information that is irrelevant to the story.

5. Newsletter subscriptions

An email newsletter is planned but the new Journal subscription form is not yet open. If subscriptions are enabled, the signup page will identify the subscription provider, consent wording, purpose, double opt-in procedure, withdrawal options and relevant data retention information before we collect addresses. Editorial news emails are not sent automatically merely because you visited the Journal.

6. Service providers and transfers

Technical providers involved in hosting, email delivery, website security and consent handling may process limited information on our behalf or as separate controllers, according to their roles. Where a provider transfers personal information outside the European Economic Area, the applicable GDPR transfer safeguards must be assessed and used. Ask the controller for details about current providers and safeguards relevant to your data.

7. Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. When processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. You can contact the controller at office@bus-glass.eu and lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

8. Updates to this notice

We may update this notice when the site’s publishing systems, analytics or subscription services change. Significant changes will be reflected in this page and its effective date. Questions about cookies, hosting logs and the data processing that applies to you can be addressed to the controller above.
